Hi, I'm Karl.
I'm a developing UX Designer from Pontefract.
I have recently gained a Professional Diploma in User Experience (UX) Design studying around full time employment, online with the UX Design Institute. Prior to this I attended the University of Huddersfield were I studied for a degree in Web Technologies at BSc level . I also have level 2 & level 3 Diploma’s in Art & Design.
For most of my working career and while studying at university I have worked in the retail sector with some experience in B2B and B2C sales. I have various experience in different roles from general assistant to store manager positions. With the growth of the internet I have been able to see first hand how some leading companies deploy their online essentials, from their public presence to the tools of the trade used by employees. I see that for some people, it can feel like a real life ‘web’ and one that can become very tangled. For many people there is no escape from this.
While studying at university I realised that my talents and interests firmly lay in design and problem solving. This is where I was at my happiest while doing my degree. I could see how, with a better understanding I could help make a big difference for users who struggle.
In my spare time I am a keen runner and being in the outdoors is something I enjoy hugely. As well the benefits of running, listening to music has always played a big part in my life, and in how I like to relax. And if you haven’t guessed yet, I do like to learn and reading provides that for me whether it’s a good novel or something more educational. However, it seems I have more books on the shelf that harbour a bookmark than I can run miles in a week!
